TIQOLA! is an acronym for The Inexorable Quality of Life, Aaaaah! This song somehow evolved out of a performance of Feliz Navidad during one of my many solo piano stints at the American Tap Room in Bethesda, MD. I like how the bridge vaguely sounds like the bridge to Speak Low and the coda has elements of It’s Easy to Remember. This was also the last arrangement that I made for this recording, and I finished it just in time, too – the band didn’t see their parts until we went into the recording studio! (By the way: great job, guys. You are sight-reading champs.)
